In the tradition of French salons, photographer Scott McCormick’s “Office Hours” are a gathering of minds. While not formal like the tradition dictates, McCormick has taken this gathering to an interesting, and albeit more libatious platform. To escape the everyday clutter of infinite garbage that plagues the internet and obscures knowledge, McCormick has opted to have locals respected throughout the city lead Wednesday evenings in a kaleidoscope of discussions and learning. All are welcome with no penance on lack of knowledge. These evening’s are built with one sole purpose: learning.
There’s a hitch, though. The featured artist of the week is given as many free drinks as they need to further the conversation in an interesting manner. Imagine if art, design, marketing, music, and general creativity slammed head first into Comedy Central’s “Drunk History.``
ALL levels are welcome. Any questions are encouraged. We're excited to have you.

And can you find it broadcast online you ask? No. No you cannot. The point of Office Hours is to sit together without the distraction of technology to hold honest, supportive, and creative conversations with our peers. While I love the internet, it's filled with too many avenues both positive and negative for information. We strive to bring this back to the face-to-face conversation.
July 19th: Ok! I'm so pumped I can't keep it to myself anymore... On Wednesday, July 19th we have a guest that I'm kind of freaking out about at Office Hours. The incredible Mark Sink has offered to come and hang out and talk!!!!! Holy cow!! Mark has been one of my absolute inspirations since I first picked up a camera. I've literally been terrified of even reaching out to say ``hi`` to him because of how much respect I have for him and his work. I finally gained the courage, and it turns out he's AWESOME!!! Y'all, I can't express enough how lucky we are to have him. More announcements soon. But, mark your calendars for Office Hours on July 19th from 5:30-8pm at The Elm!!
Check out this great article about Mr. Sink in the meantime:
Travis Hetman is our Weekly Awesome winner on this last Friday of March. Travis does incredible artwork, no matter the style or medium he uses. Enshrouded in well defined artistic knowledge and talent, his drawings are perfectly detailed and lifelike while staying just left of center. This allows them to become something wholly unique and profound. Featured in galleries around town, his work can also be seen on the sides of buildings, such as the incredible mural at Leon Gallery in which he collaborated with another amazing Denver favorite, Forrest J. Morrison. In whichever medium he choses to show his extraordinary talent, we’re always guaranteed to see something existential, thought provoking, and absolutely beautiful.
The Weekly Awesome is voted on every week at Office Hours. Anyone coming to our Wednesday night's is encouraged to bring any Colorado artist in for nomination. We try to keep the nominations to works that have been released in the past week. As a group, we then vote on the winner (who gets a free drink of choice the following week if they choose to come to Office Hours).
